DITA OT PDF CSS paged media plug-in is here

We are happy to announce that we have just submitted our first open source DITA Open Toolkit plug-in to GitHub. This plug-in allows you to generate PDF documents not using traditional XSL-FO approach, but via HTML and CSS Paged Media.

You can find the plug-in source code at its GitHub repository: https://github.com/xmlrocks/dita-ot-pdf-css-page

The initial version supports two formatting tools: PDFreactor and Vivliostyle. PDFreactor allows you to use all plug-in capabilities and generate perfect PDF documents. Vivliostyle is in beta-state at the moment, so its support is a little bit limited (in particular TOC and index generation is not available). We have tested it with DITA-OT versions 2.1 and 2.2.

We looking forward to getting your plug-in usage experience, feedback, enhancement requests, in other words anything what would help us to make it better.

Enjoy!
